The attraction of Timang Beach
Different from other beaches in Gunung Kidul, Timang Beach is divided into 2 locations, where at the first location you will be treated to views of beautiful coral rocks with beautiful white sand as well as a viewing post for expanses of blue sea water.
Apart from the beach views, you can also try extreme rides here, namely the coral rocks in the middle of the sea. Uniquely, you can try riding the extreme gondola ride and also the suspension bridge to get to the coral rocks.
The suspension bridge itself is around 120 meters long with a height above the sea reaching 15 meters. You are advised to walk slowly like a model to maintain balance. Apart from that, for those of you who are afraid of heights, it is also not recommended to walk while looking towards the sea. No need to worry because during the trip a professional guide will accompany you to arrive at the coral reef in the middle of the sea.
Usually visitors who come to Timang Beach are always interested in trying out the gondola which is around 90 meters long and reaches a height of 15 meters.
The uniqueness of this gondola is that it is operated manually and pulled by 6-8 people to reach the center of the coral.
Apart from being challenging and exciting, this gondola also has an interesting story, because this ride has apparently been around since 1997. The gondola at Timang Beach was made by local residents, the majority of whom were fishermen, to collect lobsters and fish around the island.
As time went by, this gondola attracted many visitors and eventually became a tourist attraction for local residents. In 2014-2015, this Timang Beach tourist destination went viral and many people visited after the Korean variety show Running Man filmed here.
